BRENDAN KENNEDY OF COMMERCE BANK JOINS JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Waltham, MA (October 21, 2015) Brendan Kennedy of Milton, MA, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Northern New England (JANNE).
Brendan is currently Vice President at Commerce Bank, where he is responsible for Middle Market business development in the Greater Boston and South Shore markets. Brendan spent the early part of his banking career with Eastern Bank and Fleet Bank/Bank of America before helping to found and build a private business involved in wholesaling overstock books. In his role as SVP of Business Development, Brendan worked with his business partners at Book Enterprises to donate over 100,000 educational books to the Fall River School system.
“When I consider the strength of my education and the rich experiences it has afforded me, I think first of the mentorship programs I was lucky to participate in and those individuals that participated and provided invaluable hands on learning opportunities. The purpose of JA, to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy, is one I believe in greatly and I am humbled by the opportunity to work with such great people to help the organization deliver that message,” said Brendan.
Brendan resides in Milton and is committed to serving the Greater Boston and South Shore Communities. He is active in the Chamber of Commerce and sits on a volunteer Board for the South Shore YMCA.
“We have a very strong Board in place and we couldn’t be more pleased with this appointment. Brendan’s professional background and passionate commitment to the JANNE mission will help us as we seek to continue to impact the lives of tens of thousands of students in our region,” said Kerry Bedard, President of Junior Achievement of Northern New England.
